South East Kelowna Parks

Southeast Kelowna boasts a must-see destination – the Myra Canyon Trestles.  Follow the Kettle Valley Railway (KVR) through the steep-walled canyon and be amazed by this iconic landmark. The 18 trestle bridges and two tunnels are a sight to behold, initially built by hand at the turn of the last century. One can only imagine the hard work and dedication that went into constructing this engineering marvel, showing that ingenuity and perseverance were ingrained in Canadian history even a century ago.

Discover the breathtaking Myra Canyon trestles, only a 40-minute drive from downtown Kelowna. The main entry point, Myra Station, is your gateway to an unforgettable adventure. Explore on foot or by bike and enjoy the stunning natural surroundings. Want a guided experience? Myra Canyon Bike Rental & Tours are located on-site and offer rentals and tours. To ensure a seamless experience, book ahead and contact them to confirm availability.

Looking for a beautiful outdoor space that offers exercise and stunning scenery? Look no further than this 11-hectare park, which boasts exceptional views and plenty of room for hiking, running, and soaking up the natural beauty around you. While the park was damaged in a 2003 wildfire, it’s now a shining example of nature’s remarkable ability to recover and thrive. A quick hike to the top of the park will give you a workout, but the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and Okanagan Lake make it well worth the effort. To visit, follow South Ridge Drive and look for the signs – just remember to keep your furry friends on a leash and leave the smoking materials at home.

If you’re looking for a scenic hike that leads to gorgeous  waterfalls, Crawford Falls is a must-see spot. Finding the trailhead can be a bit tricky, but worth the search! Look for the small path that leads you to the falls. To get to the lower falls, the roughly 20-minute hike is quite challenging, but once you arrive, it’s a sight to behold. The falls cascade down 20 feet, and if you continue for an additional 10 minutes, you’ll reach the more significant falls, plummeting down 40 feet.

You can access Crawford Falls via Gordon Drive to Dehart Road, then take Crawford Road to Westridge Drive. Follow Canyon Ridge Crescent to Canyon Falls Court, and you’ll discover the Kelowna City Parks trail that takes you to the falls. Bonus: dogs are welcome, but remember to keep them leashed.

Just a stone’s throw away from Myra Station lies the  breathtaking Gallagher’s Golf & Country Club, and its stunning landscape is the Canyon Bar & Grill. Indulge in all your classic favourites, from mouth-watering burgers to comforting soups and sandwiches, with awe-inspiring views of Scenic Canyon and Layer Cake Mountain. To elevate your dining experience, sip on an exquisite Okanagan wine while basking in the warm sun on the patio. It’s the perfect way to savour a delicious meal and soak up the natural beauty surrounding you.

After indulging in a delectable meal, it is time to embark on a new adventure. If you’re energetic, hit the greens at the stunning Gallagher’s Canyon. Alternatively, if you’re more in the mood for a laid-back experience, drive leisurely through the picturesque country roads along the Southeast Bench. Enjoy the scenic sights and stop by some charming wineries along the way.

The Harvest Golf Club offers an  unforgettable golfing experience designed by the renowned Canadian architect Graham Cooke. With its championship-length layout stretching over 7,109 yards, you can challenge yourself to a round of golf while enjoying breathtaking views of the lush greenery. The name “Harvest” was inspired by the fruit trees that adorn the course lending it an extra layer of beauty. There are opportunities for golfers of all levels to improve their skills, including Okanagan’s most prominent and best practice facility, a golf academy, lessons from our PGA pros, and leagues for those looking to join others and start playing. But it’s not just the wines that make Camelot stand out. Throughout the summer, they host events, including an Annual Medieval Fair. Held on the second Saturday of August, this fair is a celebration of all things medieval, complete with sword fights, weaponry displays (including a trebuchet!), and tons of wine. So if you’re looking for a unique experience that’s a true blast from the past, you will want to experience Camelot Vineyards Estate Winery.
Woops, with its unique 3-D label, is the wine to bring home to friends. Are you looking for a place to unwind and enjoy some delicious wine? With Vibes at the Vine every Saturday and lawn games like croquet and bocce ball, you can keep the good times rolling all day long. Enjoy your wine in their backyard picnic area, where you can build your picnic with cheese, meats, olives, chips, and dips. Or, indulge in their newly-released wine pops in flavours like rosé with strawberry, Woops with peach and vanilla, or Phantom red wine with a sangria twist. Don’t miss out on this ultimate summer spot!

The Kitsch Wines story is one of passion, creativity, and sustainable growth. Ria and Trent Kitsch, the founders of this premium wine brand, have transformed former apple orchards in Kelowna into lush vineyards that produce a range of exceptional wines. With some help from friends, this young family has successfully blended their love for wine with their entrepreneurial spirit to create unique blends perfect for any occasion, from a fancy celebration to a laid-back game night. These single-vineyard wines embody the region’s sun-soaked valleys and rich soil, capturing the essence and ambition of the Kitsch family for generations to come.
